At Bluebird we welcome everyone, but our trans and non-binary clients are at the heart of what we do. We take this work very seriously because for us, hair removal is often not optional; it is about being seen for who we are.
Laser hair removal for trans folks is a completely different ballgame than hair removal for cis folks. This is because the body hair of folks born with male anatomy is coarser, and more deeply rooted, than the hair anywhere on a cis woman’s body. However, the laser hair removal industry, and the machines themselves, have all been designed around the treatment of cis women.
Because of this, we have spent the past five years here at Bluebird developing proprietary methods for treating our trans clients that get them finished faster, and more thoroughly, than any other clinic.
Bluebird is also owned, funded, and entirely staffed by trans women. This makes us different right down to our DNA. We are a small team of five women. For all of us, hair removal has been vital to our lives. We understand how important it is to our clients, because we know how important it was to us. From the moment you walk through our door, there will be no need to explain why you are here. We know why you're here, because we know what brought us.

A word about pricing
At Bluebird we have created pricing that allows us to pay our skilled staff a living wage, and ensures our survival at an accessible location in downtown Toronto. But we understand that, for many trans folks this prices our services out of reach.
Because of this, we hold a certain number of spots, offered at a substantial discount, to ensure that there is space here for everyone. If you are a trans woman, and facial hair removal is important to your identity, we will do everything possible to make a place for you here.
But also know that we are only able to do this because those of us who can pay full price, do pay full price. Those of us who can make it possible for those of us who can’t. And by this method we all come through together.
In this way, it is Bluebird’s vision to make space for everyone. Please help us hold to it.
If you are a trans person, and our pricing is impossible for you, during your Initial Consultation simply let us know that you will need “unicorn” pricing, and we will make arrangements.
The Bluebird Method for Transfolks
For many reasons, the treatment and care a trans client receives at Bluebird will be very different from the care that she would receive at any other clinic.
The first reason for this is that Bluebird is owned and staffed by trans women. We understand how important this work is to you. We know that these services are expensive to our clients and we work hard to make sure every session is as productive as possible.
The second reason is that since this clinic’s very inception, we have focused on innovating processes and techniques that get our trans clients done in fewer sessions, with greater care, and with better results. This is work we’re really proud of.
