FAQs

I’m a trans person coming for facial hair removal; what can I expect?

Removing facial hair for our trans femme and non-binary clients is some of the most important work we do. We take deep pride in being able to do this thoroughly and quickly. We have done this for hundreds of women, and are simply more experienced with it than any other clinic.

The facial hair of someone born with male anatomy is more dense and deeply rooted than hair anywhere on a cis woman's body. This makes successful treatment of this area significantly different. We often switch between multiple lasers during the course of treatments, we utilize longer pulse widths and higher fluences than anywhere else on the body, and we incorporate follow-up appointments every few sessions to monitor results, check in on healing, and confirm that there is still treatable hair.

How to prepare: Shave closely the morning of your session.

What to expect: Depending on the laser we are using, sessions will last between 30 minutes and an hour. There is often quite a bit of redness and follicular swelling during the sessions. Don’t worry, we will be taking lots of breaks and checking in with you about how you're doing. But come prepared for an intense session.

We recommend planning for a little downtime afterwards. Most clients don’t want to go right back to work or right back to school right after a session.
